To maori, Paua are taonga (treasures) and has become known for its interior layer of shell that is an iridescent swirl of intense green, blue, purple, and sometimes pink colours.The paua is valuable in New Zealand: its black muscular foot is considered a delicacy, and the shell is frequently used in jewelry
